Flights: Flights coming to/from the UK are at either terminal A or B at Barcelona airport.

transfer between Barcelona airport and Barcelona city centre :

Train:
The T10 card (more details below) can be bought and used at the train station at Barcelona airport, to transfer between Barcelona airport and Barcelona city centre.
The journey takes about 30mins, and the train stops at Sants station, Passeig de Gracia (for Las Ramblas), and Station França (for the beach).


Bus:
Tickets can be bought onboard the airport bus , which stops outside all terminals at Barcelona airport , and costs 4.05€ per person (7.00€ return). The journey takes about 30mins from the airport, and the bus stops at Plaça España, Gran Via / Urgell, Placa Universidad and Plaça Catalunya.
Going to Barcelona airport , the bus takes another route, via pg Gracia, Roma / Urgell, Sants station, Plaça Espanya, and finally Barcelona airport.
A regular bus (number 46) goes to/from Plaça Espanya, where you can also use the T10 card
(more details below).

Taxi:
A taxi from Barcelona airport will charge around 20€-25€ for Placa Catalunya. There will be surcharges for luggage placed in the taxi trunk, journeys made after 11pm, Sundays and holidays.


Transfer between Girona airport and Barcelona city centre :


Journey time by bus is around 70mins, with buses usually coinciding with Ryanair flights.
Buses terminate at the Estacio d' Autobusos Barcelona Nord (Barcelona's main bus terminal),  which is very close to Arc de Triumf metro in Barcelona city centre.
Tickets are bought inside the airport or at the terminal, and cost 12€ one way or 21€ return. Further details can be found at the website of the company running the bus service, Sagales.

Transfer between Reus airport and Barcelona city centre :


Journey time by bus is around 90mins, with buses terminating at Barcelona Sants station (Barcelona's main train station).
Tickets are bought inside the airport or at the terminal, and cost 15€ one way or 26€ return.

Public Transport travel cards(money saving tip for your holiday):

Buying a T10 travel card (at any metro station, train station or tobacconist) costs 7.20€, and can be used for 10 adult journeys.
The ticket is transferable (i.e. it can be used by more than 1 person), and can be used on the metro, bus, tram and train within Barcelona city centre.
Any  rides, where the  journey made within 75mins by a combination of either 1 train ride, 1 metro ride, 1 tram ride, or any bus rides where bus numbers are not the same, count as 1 journey.

Bicycle rental:

There are plenty of companies renting bicycles in Barcelona city centre. As the city is just under 40 square miles (100 square km), all the main sights are within reach, helped by the numerous bicycle lanes. Just search online for "Barcelona bicycle rental" for a list of companies.

Barcelona Tourist bus:

This is a great way to take in the main sights if you are unfamiliar with Barcelona city centre. Tickets can be bought on the bus, and also give you entrance discounts to many of the sights. Adult prices are 20€ (1 day) or 26€ (2 consecutive days). Children prices are 12€ (1 day) or 16€ (2 consecutive days). If you are not interested in entering the sights, you may find this an expensive travel option, and prefer to buy a cheaper T10 to move around.

Outside Barcelona:

There are a host of sights to visit outside Barcelona city centre, which can be reached by train. There are two train companies serving Barcelona. FGC (the local Barcelona service) and RENFE (serving local, national and international routes).

Car rental:

All the main international car rental companies have bases in Barcelona and each airport. Most companies do not allow one way, one day car rental from an airport, but check first with them anyway.
